What's the role?

As an R&D Group Manager (m/f/d) in Technology Chemistry, you will lead a team of technical project managers, R&D chemists, and laboratory technicians. Together with your team, you will be accountable for developing our next generation fire protection technologies and ensuring the required technology maturity. You will create an environment where innovative ideas can thrive, allowing you to select and prepare cutting edge technologies.

What does the role involve?

You will lead a team dedicated to developing new functional polymeric formulations for fire protection applications. You will closely collaborate with management, marketing, pilot plant, production, international Hilti sites, external partners, and suppliers to ensure application oriented technology development. You will actively shape the technology roadmap, further develop the technology field, and foster your team members in their functional and personal development.

What you need is:

• Completed master’s degree in chemistry, materials science or similar with PhD, preferably in the field of organic or polymer chemistry
• Multiple years of professional experience in an industrial R&D environment
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and an understanding how to inspire, motivate, and develop a team
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of innovative thinking and the ability to identify and exploit opportunities
• Strong strategic thinking skills, with the capacity to set and execute long-term goals
• Excellent proficiency in professional business communication, both written and verbal
• Excellent command of English and an eagerness to acquire proficiency in the German language
