Join us in driving Hilti’s future business in Construction Software and IoT - as Development Operations Architect based in Kaufering (close to Munich), Germany you will be part of a committed and international team within an agile work environment. You will define, implement, and improve our cloud native software platform to scale our Construction software applications to the next level.

In our IoT department we develop innovative Embedded Software Solutions, Mobile Apps and Measurement Technologies - through our technologies in application software we take our customers to the next level of the technological progress.

What does the role involve?

As Development Operations Architect – Construction Software, you define, implement, and enhance the architecture for our cloud native systems and toolchain jointly with technical and domain experts in the development community. You monitor cloud native technology trends and bring-in cutting edge know-how to define a future-proof technical roadmap.
Through your sound technical experience (eg. in Kubernetes with GitOps or Terraform for IaC), you enjoy technical review and coaching sessions with our engineers and do not hesitate to challenge technical designs. Taking the full technical ownership of our cloud native platform you continuously assess its technical maturity along with its associated business risks and ensure its compatibility to new software modules and / or integrations.
With your excellent collaboration skills, you identify and fulfil needs of various stakeholders and promote the importance of cloud native principles within the organization. You will drive dedicated initiatives to take our software development and operations capabilities to the next level.

What you need is:

  • You hold a master’s degree in computer science or similar studies with a focus on software/IT engineering
  • You have a min. of 10 years’ experience in system architecture & development for cloud-based customer facing web- and mobile applications, ideally with IoT-related solutions
  • Outstanding expertise in state-of-the art cloud native technologies like Kubernetes and public cloud (eg. AWS, Microsoft Azure)
  • You are passionate about the cloud native domain and have a proven track record in driving cloud native software architecture within complex microservice environments
  • Your working style is proactive, and you have a “getting-things-done” approach, not hesitating to get hands-on
  • You have strong analytical and interpersonal skills to successfully perform in a global matrix environment working with agile methodologies
  • Fluency in English and willingness for international travels
