Our Data Governance team will be responsible for ensuring that we generate business value out of our data whilst remaining compliant and ensuring the conditions for sustained long-term impact. As Data Governance Lead, you will craft a cohesive vision for the future of data governance at C&A and develop the strategy, team setup and roadmap to support this vision. You will work cross-functionally to deliver data governance strategies, policies, and data management initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in successfully rolling out data governance initiatives in large, data-rich organizations and a passion for creating pragmatic solutions for and with the people.

Your responsibilities

• Understand our business objectives and define and execute the Data Governance strategy and roadmap that will support these objectives
• Drive a team of Data Governance Managers and be accountable for the outcomes of your team.
• Coach and support the performance and growth of your team members.
• Guide your team in leading greenfield data ownership and stewardship initiatives, promoting a culture of data accountability and responsibility.
• Use a mix of frameworks, enabling technology and people centricity to design pragmatic solutions that increase the trustworthiness of our data.
• Drive compliance initiatives for relevant legal regulatory requirements (CSRD reporting, Digital Product Passport)
• Be an ambassador and lead the cultural change in the organization's awareness of the importance of robust data management
• Support Data & AI literacy initiatives

What you bring

• You are a data governance and data management expert and have experience operating within the DAMA DMBOK Framework
• You have a strong understanding of compliance frameworks related to Data Governance (GDPR, CSRD, EU AI Act).
• You have a solution-oriented and pragmatic mindset and enjoy finding solutions with others.
• You possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills and are at-ease collaborating with both business and technical peers. You can tailor your language to different audiences.
• You are skilled in clear and proactive stakeholder management - managing expectations, gathering feedback and mediating conflicting priorities
• You have advanced analytical skills, are proficient in SQL and ideally possess knowledge in data architecture concepts
