In the role of Data Engineer, you will be developing, deploying, and maintaining data pipelines to support analytics and data science on a Hilti group level as well as custom reporting solutions in Hilti sales regions. Embedded in the global logistic team you will work closely with leading experts in the field of supply chain management as main business domain and data engineering. You will interact with key stakeholders from global logistics and across IT teams to integrate and transform required data into the Enterprise Data Platform. You translate business requirements of internal customers into technically viable solutions by owning, implementing, and maintaining data provisioning.
As a data engineer, you retrieve, process and store large sets of data. The target is to utilize the data for analysis work as well as data driven applications. You determine the optimal solution design for these processes while maintaining, implementing, and monitoring them. You integrate data from multiple sources and work closely with other data engineers and data analysts to derive data requirements. You deal with technical complexity and offer integration across various technical platforms. The role will require you to fully understand dataflows on organizational as well as technical level. You will establish and execute data provisioning, ranging from initial requests to the technical realization of accessing the data.
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication) or any related quantitative field; a Master’s Degree is an advantage for this position.
· Good understanding of distributed computing framework and big data systems, experience with object-oriented coding.
· Experience with data integration designs within at least one cloud based hyper scaler (Azure) is preferred for this position.
