RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactive leadership and development of the global regional business development teams for Pharma & Biotech (in a dotted line structure)
- Developing and scaling new business opportunities in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries – with a focus on market penetratio
- Actively identifying and acquiring strategically relevant new clients at global, regional and local levels
- Global responsibility for the segment's revenue, pipeline development and margin growth
- Conducting in-depth market analyses to clearly define areas of opportunity, addressable markets and growth drivers
- Developing and implementing an ambitious 3-year business plan to sustainably increase market share
- Driving strong global knowledge transfer and establishing scalable best practices
- Direct and targeted customer engagement: customer visits, tracking opportunities and closing deals at C-level
- Close collaboration with Key Account Management to jointly develop key accounts and identify upselling and cross-selling potential at an early stage
- Closing portfolio and market gaps in close collaboration with the Head of Portfolio Management for Pharma & Biotech
REQUIREMENTS:
- A degree in biotechnology or a related field
- Several years global experience in business development, key account management or strategic sales at management level
- In-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical and biotech markets
- A proven track record of actively acquiring new clients
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing cross-functional teams
- A strong ‘hunter' mentality combined with a genuine pioneering spirit and the ability to adapt quickly to market changes
- Outstanding analytical, strategic and entrepreneurial skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as experience in stakeholder management at a global level
- Willingness to travel approx. 30%
