Health, Safety & Environmental Manager - Chemicals (m/f/x)

Join our HSE team and shape how environmental and chemical management is embedded across our global headquarters. You will turn complex regulatory and technical requirements into practical concepts, drive measurable improvements, and build stakeholder support so that new solutions are understood, accepted, and implemented effectively. This role combines strategic development with hands-on implementation. You will strengthen our environmental organization, improve chemical and hazardous-substance management, and translate improvement opportunities into sustainable operational results.
This full-time position is based at our global headquarters in Schaan, Liechtenstein. The required travel is limited and aligned with project needs.

What You'll do

• Lead the introduction and assessment of new chemicals through the defined approval process, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Own and continuously improve hazardous-substance data and processes in the chemical management system GeSi3 for the Hilti Headquarters, including chemical safety instructions, labels, and related documentation.
• Develop robust environmental and chemical-safety concepts, including storage, warehouse, wastewater, firewater-retention, and emergency-response solutions, and drive their practical implementation with internal and external partners.
• Assess environmental, chemical, and exposure risks, define proportionate controls, and translate findings into clear standards, priorities, and improvement roadmaps.
• Create commitment for change by communicating the value of improvements, influencing stakeholders at all levels, and delivering effective training and awareness programs.
• Ensure environmentally compliant disposal of wastewater and chemicals, monitor key environmental indicators, and provide accurate reporting to the Office of Environment.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
• Sound professional experience and strong expertise in chemical and hazardous-substance management, including the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and turn them into workable concepts.
• Proven ability to develop environmental management strategically, while remaining hands-on and driving implementation through to measurable results.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to explain complex topics clearly and build support for organizational improvements.
• Fluent German and English are required.
