Global Manager Customs & Export Control (f/m/d)
Responsibilities
- Ensure as the global functional lead that FHCS maintains an effective Customs and Export Control Management System (CECMS), keeping policies, procedures and guidelines up to date through continuous monitoring of regulatory changes.
- Drive the global implementation and consistent application of customs and export control standards across all regions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for customs and export control within FHCS by:
- Developing and implementing global tools and standardized processes
- Training, guiding and supporting local experts and stakeholders via actively fostering knowledge exchange and best-practice sharing within the global FHCS customs and export control community
- Track and monitor corrective actions resulting from audits and self-assessments, and support investigations into potential non-compliance cases.
- Establish and maintain global KPI tracking, deriving and driving optimization initiatives and support GRC-related projects and compliance initiative
- Develop the function through project leadership, functional team guidance, and future disciplinary responsibility.
Qualifications
- University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Business Administration, International Trade, Logistics, Law)
- More than 5 years of professional experience in a comparable role within customs, export control, or foreign trade compliance
- Excellent knowledge of: Preferential and rules of origin, export control regulations and foreign trade law (including European Customs Code, executive orders, prohibitions, and restrictions); as well as Incoterms and international tax regulations
- Fluent in English; German is a plus
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with ERP systems
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills, with the ability to: Learn quickly, independently and with minimal supervision
- Manage and prioritize multiple complex tasks and lead mid-sized projects and investigations in a team environment
- Proactive and well-organized, with a proven ability to manage high volumes and set clear priorities and sound judgment and meticulous attention to detail
- Leadership skills and the ability to provide effective advice and guidance on customs and export control matters
