Your responsibilities
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
- As VM Manager Germany, you are responsible for the visual merchandising direction & execution across a region of circa 200 C&A stores.
- You will ensure your stores implement the seasonal collections provided in a consistent, commercial manner that reflects C&A brand standards, follows VM strategy and drives customer traffic & conversion.
- You will lead, inspire and develop a group of District VM Managers to secure a strong level of execution, consistency and on-going training across the entire area of stores.
- Your role will bring together the areas of Visual Merchandising, Sales & Operations, Store Concept and Product & Marketing - working closely with the Sales Lead, Commercial Planning and Omni-Marketing to ensure seamless and effective implementation to drive targeted KPI’s
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive and uplift the VM execution across DE region/market.
- Visual Commercial Performance & Operational Excellence – ensure a high level of consistent VM execution that increases customer engagement and sales.
- Commercial Acumen – work with KPIs collaborating closely with the Sales/Commercial Planning/Marketing Leads, be agile to react & respond to local business needs.
- Lead the Team of District Visual Merchandisers - assess & train, coach & develop this team to operate effectively and commercially for their district and stores; be actively involved in recruiting where needed.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration - partner with Market and EU Center colleagues including Sales & Operations, Store Concept, Product & Marketing to align strategies with commercial priorities.
- Store Projects - manage and execute openings/refurbishments seasonally, take opportunities to unite teams to train and upskill.
- Store Visits & Travel - flexibility to travel and work in various locations, recommended 40-50% of this role should be store travel-based.
Key Relationships:
- Reports directly into the Sales Lead of Germany South region
- Direct partnership with DE Commercial Flywheel and EU Visual Merchandising Teams
What you bring
- Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in a Visual Merchandising/Retail manager role with proven track record across performance, people & projects - preferably within fashion or retail and with national/country coverage.
Visual Merchandising Skills
- True VM specialist with fashion affinity & knowledge of the balance between creative & commercial.
- Ability to deliver a high level of national/country consistent store execution.
Leadership & Commercial Skills
- Ability to lead with clarity and care, lead to grow and inspire.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of commercial tools and use of KPIs, ability to adapt VM guidelines based on sales.
Analytical & Strategic Thinking
- Strong sense of VM commerciality and results driven.
- Ability to make data-driven VM decisions, see opportunities and act accordingly.
- Be solution-oriented, address challenges with creative and effective solutions.
Communication & Team Management
- Excellent communication skills, able to be clear, open and transparent.
- Ability to plan and organize yourself & teams with clear, measurable objectives and set the right priorities.
- Ability to train and develop people - providing support, guidance and growth opportunities to team members.
English Language
- Business proficient level of English (verbal & written) and cross-functional working is required.
- Fluent in the German language (verbal & written)
Travel Requirements
- Willingness & flexibility to travel within Germany and specific areas and stores is required, 40-50% of the role is recommended. At times, additional EU travel may be required.
Additional Requirements
- During the course of this role, additional projects & workstreams may require VM Manager leadership & support.
