Engineering Planning Manager (f/m/x)

YOU ACT

You will be responsible for planning and maintaining the smooth operation of workshops for continuous casting & hot and cold rolling equipment. You will manage and lead a dedicated planning team, ensuring operational excellence at all times.

In addition, you will be expected to, within the detail job description associated with each role:

  • Management of task scheduling, resource and material planning, via subordinates and sub suppliers, based on computer based IMMS system results to ensure an efficient performance of all workshops’ activities.
  • Manage and lead, by example, a dedicated engineering planning team (M & S, HRS, and CRS Maintenance Planners – cross-functional) ensuring set standards of quality and workmanship within the workplace.
  • Liase with relevant workshop maintenance personnel to ensure all needed spare parts are available to subordinates for performance of their duties in a timely readiness
  • Manage and maintain agreed operational budgets.
  • Create and distribute on time periodic reports, relative to both workshop and personnel performance.
  • Set and maintain operational excellence standards of safety in the workplace

YOU KNOW

You will have attained status as a Graduate Engineer in logistics or mechanical engineering coupled with a commercial knowledge / background.

Additionally, important to us:

  • Significant and provable work experience within the steel making industry (casting and rolling preferable) or comparable role.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining assets and resources.
  • Independent and methodical approach to work.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in MS Office and SAP/ERP system.
  • Sound knowledge of English, both verbal and written; German language skills would be an optional asset.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and to develop new skills as required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
