What's the role?
Join our innovative team in Business Unit Screw Fastening to drive product development and enhance productivity for our customers. As an intern in our department, you’ll be an integral part of the Business Unit. You’ll work closely with the different stakeholders of our team to further develop our market-leading solutions. You will drive an initiative of high relevance, through understanding customer applications and requirements, and designing and testing solutions to strengthen the value proposition of our building envelope screw fastener portfolio. Your key responsibilities lie in the areas of research, testing + analysis.
Start date is flexible to the student's availability, target start date 1st March 2024 (flexible), duration: at least 6 months

What does the role involve?
As intern in our department, you’ll be part of the development and progression of our building envelope screw fastener portfolio. In our global team setup, we constantly strive for innovation to provide the best solutions to our customers. You’ll work closely with our experts to develop future systems addressing customer needs.
Your key responsibilities will be supporting the development team in technical investigations and product development projects. Your main project will involve research, ideation of solutions/improvements, and subsequently testing and validation. Furthermore, you will analyse results from product testing and have the opportunity to share these results in the broader business unit development community. You will work closely with our development and test engineers, project leaders and product management, who will empower you to make an impact on the future product portfolio and, ultimately, for our customers.

What you need is:
- Enrollment in a Bachelor/Master’s program in mechanical/manufacturing engineering, materials science or similar (preferably with knowledge of production and/or drilling technology) for the entire internship period
- A proactive approach, self-reliant personality, and enthusiasm to learn
- Passion for innovation and product development
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
- Strong communication skills, with excellent English and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as a collaborative team-player
- Experience with 3D modelling and simulation is a plus
