Trainee Manager Embedded Software (m/f/d)

What's the role?

With several years of experience as well as first experience in leading teams, the keywords "challenge and encourage" are integrated in your daily leadership routine and your strength lies in working with people - through your empathy you win and convince others and enjoy developing a team to the next level.
The trainee duration is between 1 and 2 years, during which you will be rotating among key strategic positions in the embedded SW and mechatronics area within the Power Tool Drives division, contributing to the development of several Hilti flagship products, such as breakers and screw drivers. The goal is to fast-track your career towards a managerial position via intensive coaching and on-the-job training. After the forming period, you will be ready for the next step as Group Manager/Team Leader (m/f/d) and lead an international embedded SW team.

What does the role involve?

During the trainee period, you will broaden your expertise in embedded SW, mechatronics, and System Engineering for Power Tools, using state-of-the-art technologies especially regarding electric motors and batteries. You will lead projects and continuous improvement initiatives and shape the innovation roadmap. You will motivate your team members with your own enthusiasm, delegating tasks and actively contributing to the achievement of common goals. You with coordinate both internal and external resources, being the main interface to various stakeholders.

What you need is:

• Completed university degree (Master) in engineering, computer science, mechatronics, or related fields. MBA degree is an advantage
• At least 7 years of professional experience, ideally first experience in leading teams
• Technical experience in software and agile development processes
• Strong analytical, problem solving, presentation and stakeholder management skills
• Structured organizational management and talent for multi-tasking
• Hands-on and proactive mindset
• Proven ability to deliver projects on schedule, on time and on budget
• Excellent knowledge of English, German is an advantage
