We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to strengthen our Security team to help evaluate and implement early detection and fast response mechanisms to prevent damage from cyber incidents within Freudenberg.

Senior Cyber Security Detection Engineer (f/m/d)

Responsibilities

  • As a Cyber Security Detection Engineer you will drive development, implementation and continuous improvement of mechanisms and processes that enable early detection and rapid response to cyber-attacks
  • You promote the exchange and sharing of experiences between experts at Freudenberg
  • You evaluate and manage security service providers that deliver external detection and response services
  • You permanently analyze and assess Freudenberg`s attack surface and threat exposure, detect attack patterns and security anomalies
  • You optimize detection and response capabilities as result of attack simulations and red teaming exercises
  • You know that you can only achieve this by working closely with business colleagues and building constructive relationships with all key stakeholders
  • You will be responsible for delivering high quality deliverables on time and on budget
  • You will strive to maintain security standards to achieve continuous high satisfaction

Qualifications

  • Cyber Security or IT related degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • You have professional experience or consulting experience in Cyber Security Detection and Response
  • You have expert knowledge in implementing, operating security monitoring, incident handling tools and processes (including SOC, SIEM, and CERT tools )
  • You are a technology enthusiast being driven by leveraging technologies to automate and optimize processes within detection technologies (e.g. Splunk, MS Sentinel)
  • You are familiar with common and rising attack vectors and related mitigation strategies (e.g. MITRE attack framework)
  • You are proactive, a Self-starter who is self-sufficient and able to work with minimum supervision
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, willing to accept challenges and probing different ways to find practical and effective solutions
  • Most importantly, you know that you are not perfect and may not be able to meet all expectations, but you believe in yourself and work hard to achieve it
